On Tuesday, McLaren debuted the drop-top after last year’s release of the ultra-fast 765LT supercar. The new convertible is equipped with the same 4.0 litre twin-turbocharged V-8 found inside the 720S only with a 45 point increase in horsepower bringing it to a cool 755. The drop-top’s seven-speed dial-clutch transmission also offers 15 percent faster acceleration and can reach 60 mph in 2.7 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph, which is slightly lower than the coupe’s performance numbers due to 108 pounds it has gained from the convertible mechanism.

The body of the 765LT Spider is equipped with an aerodynamic package that includes a lengthened front splitter, updated side skirts, a rear diffuser, and an expansive rear wing, which all contributes to 25 percent more downforce than the 720S Spider.
